Your right to a Good Faith Estimate

Under the No Surprises Act, health care providers must give people who are uninsured or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for services.

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency services, including counseling. You can ask for one before you schedule a service.

What it includes

The estimate covers the expected cost of the counseling services you plan to receive. Session fees are $125 for an individual session, with a free 15-minute consultation and a sliding scale for those who qualify.

If your bill is higher

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill through the federal patient-provider dispute resolution process.
